Pelekas is a small, picturesque mountain village, beautifully situated, above the west coast in the middle of the island of Corfu. Approximately 550 residents and 12 kilometers from Corfu Town.
Pelekas offers its guests all possibilities for a pleasant and varied holiday, far away from mass tourism. Here you experience the daily life of the Greek population, especially in the mountains, between olive groves and cypress trees. Here the clocks seem to run slower than elsewhere.
The various brightly-painted houses and narrow streets seem quaint and romantic. Restaurants and cafes are simple and small. Small supermarkets and shops also guarantee the daily supply of travellers. Even night owls come in Pelekas at your expense. When the sun goes down, the mood rises in the village and it is celebrated.

The small mountain village of Pelekas was traded until 25 years ago, as an insider tip among hippies. The beach was completely undeveloped, the place all original. It is over now, but a little of that flair is still preserved in Pelekas.
Pelekas always attracts regular guests again and again to enjoy the peace and quiet of the village and the beautiful beaches of the area. Especially artists, where the cozy and serene atmosphere in the small, mostly family-run tavernas, restaurants and Cafés, surrounded by olive trees and cypresses, far away from mass tourism, do not want to miss..

Pelekas is an ideal starting point for hikes, as it is located directly at the Corfu Pass. This is a trail that runs through the whole island. As a nature lover, this should not be missed.
For romantics Pelekas offers with the Kaiser's Throne one of the best views in Corfu. There you have an impressive panoramic view and can enjoy beautiful sunsets. An unforgettable experience, already regularly enjoyed by Kaiser Wilhelm II. The breathtaking sunset from the top of the hill to watch is an unforgettable experience that even Emperor Wilhelm II regularly enjoyed. For this reason this area is called the Kaiser's throne. The sun shines on a roll down the mountain slopes towards formally.

One of the highlights of village life in Pelekas is the Art Festival. The Art Festival, part of the cultural scene of Corfu with many artists, live music and graffiti. Graffiti artists practice on the retaining walls of concrete on the road out of the village down to the main road. Who's in Pelekas holiday, this sensational festival can not miss.

An extremely good bathing facilities with excellent sandy beaches there is no lack in Pelekas.

Pelekas Beach (Kontogialos), one of the most beautiful beaches in Corfu, it is certainly within walking distance just a bit tedious. Wonderful, wide sandy beach with clean water. Ideal for children because the sea is calm and the beach very flat slopes down to the water. Here guests will find sun loungers and parasols. The Bay itself is not overcrowded.

There are still more beautiful sandy beaches in the vicinity.

Glyfada Beach is about 1 km long. Wide, flat sandy beach with Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and water sportst.

On Mirtiotissa Beach are not more than a tavern and a monastery. On approximately 300 m long sandy beach of Mirtiotissa basks and bathes everyone how he likes it (clothing optional). So far, only a few chairs and parasols for hire. Rocks provide shade. This beach is an experience, a worthwhile destination, no matter where you live in Corfu. From here, visitors can visit the Monastery of Panagia Mirtiotissa. The monastery was founded in the 14th century, stands on the west coast on the sandy beach Mirtiotissa in limestone mountains, surrounded by olive trees and myrtle. In the convent garden thrive here many beautiful plants that give the monastery a special flair. Visitors are welcome. The monk shows his guests this magnificent garden.
